Bed’s sheets look spick and span, carpets are spotless, and the walls are clean. Yay! You are fastidious. Some people do their house cleaning chores regularly. They can’t rest until they see everything tidy and just right in their homes.
But the truth is, no matter how neat freak we are, there are always places in our homes that are forgotten while cleaning. Even if you clean each nook and corner of your home, you somehow fail to notice the areas that are desperately seeking for some cleaning too.
Here are the top three things that we tend to overlook while cleaning.
Dishwashers are what keep your dishes clean. Cleaners also get dirty and need to be cleaned at regular interval.
People assume that dishwasher does not require cleaning. The soap and running water should keep it clean. However, the truth is that dishwashers also need cleaning regularly.
How do we do it?
- First, add a cup of white vinegar down the drain and let it stand for 30 minutes then rinse with hot water. Now rinse the dishwasher by sprinkling some baking soda with the next round of hot-water cycle again to remove all the grime and false odor from your dishwasher.
#2 Curtains & Upholstery
Curtains and upholstery appear clean and well-kept most of the time.
But we do not realize that these fabrics trap everything – dust and germs. Vacuuming at a regular interval will help you remove the dirt from your upholstery and curtains. You can clean your curtains in a washing machine depending on the fabric.
Sofas and other upholstered furniture are vulnerable to stains, dirt, and dust. And if it has grime, it can become deeply embedded into the fibers. Hence, reaching out to a trustable commercial cleaner is suggested for upholstery cleaning.
Everyone loves their pillow, but we often overlook the cleaning part. You can wash your down and fiberfill pillows in your washing machine.
Throw a pair of them in your washing machine. Turn on warm water and pick a gentle cycle. In the end, you can run the cold water and rinse your cushion. Dry the pillows in a dryer.
But if you have foam pillows they do not like to be washed in the washing machine. You can wash their covers in your machine. And vacuum both sides of the pillow with your vacuum’s upholstery tool to remove the dust. You can also use the dryer with an air-only cycle for some 15-20 minutes.
Besides these three items, there are some other parts in our house that we often overlook while cleaning. Parts of refrigerators, mats, garbage buckets, gadgets, some other cleaning items, dish rack, and more!
